Nutrition is the science of foods and the nutrients they contain. Nutrition includes the study of the actions of the nutrients within the body, including ingestion, digestion, absorption, transport, metabolism and excretion.

Nutrition is all about the study of food and how our bodies use food as fuel for growth and daily activities. The macronutrients, or “big” nutrients include proteins, carbohydrates, and fats. The micronutrients, or “little” nutrients are the vitamins and minerals that we need to be healthy. (Source About.com)

What is Healthy Nutrition?

Healthy Life Nutrition (I personally love to say Healthy Life Nutrition) is as the above definition but with more depth into what the right amount or each nutrient should be supplied into the body so as to create the right balance as well in a whole and thus they can keep up a healthy life. Therefore, healthy nutrition is called also balanced nutrition.

Why do we need healthy nutrition?

Healthy Nutrition is needed for our body for 3 main benefits:

  1. Creating energy or power for our body and all its organs to do activities and function as they should.
  2. Enabling our body to grow
  3. Repairing worn out tissues or cells.

Deficiency in any of nutrient (including vitamins and minerals) may lead to deterioration to our health.

Therefore the primary objective of healthy life nutrition is to keep our health up.

Healthy Nutrition for Healthy Cells

There are many harmful substances in our living environment. Everyday the cells of our immune system have to battle against various harmful substances. Hence our body would need clean water, balanced nutrition or healthy nutrition and sufficient oxygen to maintain the healthy cells.

What are the consequences from lacking healthy nutrition or diet?

Some of modern illnesses have been identified by health professionals as the results of not undertaking healthy nutrition diet.
